Talk: "Psychology of Ecology, or deep-level perspective on going green"
Date: August 17, 2007 (Friday)
Venue: Auditorium, MNS HQ
Dr. Godlas, will discuss the importance -- in the academic study of ecology and environmental activism -- of heightening awareness of both the nature of the ego and its relationship to the environmental problem. Using some basic concepts of ecological theory, he will suggest bridges between ecological, psychological, and religio-spiritual discourse. In addition, he will propose long-term culturally harmonious strategies of transforming the ego so as to increase ecological, social, emotional, and religio-spiritual intelligence and thereby help to decrease the likelihood of tragic disaster in the global ecological commons. Dr Godlas is visiting Malaysia, and is attached to the University of Georgia, USA.
