Raptor Watch 2019 Conference
What started as a few enthusiasts getting together – has now become the largest environmental event in Malaysia. With long term support from the Melaka State Government , Malaysian Nature Society has thrilled many thousands of the public, educated many hundreds of school children in understanding nature and captivated the imagination of many birds watchers.
As MNS will be celebrating the twentieth year of counting raptors passing over Peninsular Malaysia in their spring migration, a conference is being held next year to create an opportunity to share experiences and learn more about this phenomenon.
The conference will be held on 7th & 8th March 2019, at the Lexis Hibiscus Hotel, Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan which is just four kilometres away from Tanjung Tuan where the public event will be held on the following two days. Representatives from the countries along the East-Australasian Flyway, such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia. Laos, Vietnam, Philippines, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Mongolia, China, Siberia (Russia) will be invited. We will be publishing all papers in a special edition of the Malayan Nature Journal, which is an internationally peer-reviewed SCOPUS journal that has been published by the MNS since 1940.
The conference is aimed at the international and local scientific community and academicians, with the goal of fostering and facilitating communication and collaboration between the various stakeholders in Malaysian Conservation.
We would like to cordially invite you to attend this conference to be a part of the Malaysian Nature Society’s effort to promote raptor conservation worldwide.
