Multilateral Environmental Agreements (MEAs)

A country’s policies have to be consistent and relevant to regional and global conservation. National policies can no longer be confined to independent nations. The primary mechanism in achieving this are multilateral environmental agreements (MEA’s) which help create cross-cutting agendas and goals among nations.
Malaysia is a signatory to a number of MEA’s because we have recognised the importance of our natural resources and need for its conservation.
As the largest and leading environmental NGO in Malaysia, the Society actively engages partners and agencies in this regard, nationally as well as internationally.
